APPLICATIONS
ESD PET Sheet for Electronics Packaging Applications
For an electronics-packaging ESD PET inquiry, start with the package format, the component-handling workflow and the acceptance requirements. Specify whether the request concerns a tray, blister or separator, identify the material grade to be evaluated, and state which measurements and sample checks are required before approval. A product label alone is not an acceptance record.

Selected Material Options
Use the ESD PET sheet and film overview to navigate the material family. For a formed tray or blister, review the thermoforming ESD PET sheet checklist. Keep the requested grade, package format and acceptance evidence together in the RFQ; do not treat different material labels as interchangeable specifications.

Procurement Guide for ESD PET Sheet for Electronics Packaging
Use these steps to prepare an ESD PET inquiry for electronics trays or blisters. Define the component, resistance requirement and forming process so the proposed material can be reviewed against the packaging specification.
01
Define the end use
Identify the component or assembly, its ESD sensitivity and the tray or blister design. Describe the handling and packing conditions and provide any customer packaging requirements.
02
Define ESD requirements
Specify the target surface resistance, test method and whether one or both sides need ESD control. Review the proposed grade against the component and handling requirements rather than relying on an ESD label alone.
03
Confirm specification
Provide the drawing, thickness and tolerance, forming depth, roll width or sheet dimensions, and quantity. Include any clean-handling, packing and destination requirements.
04
Plan sample and bulk order
Check samples for forming behavior, tray fit and surface resistance using the agreed test method. Confirm acceptance criteria and packing requirements before agreeing the bulk-order specification, quantity and delivery schedule.
Application Comparison Checklist
| Buyer question | Information to include | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| What will the package hold? | Component description, handling workflow and tray, blister or separator format. | Application drawing and buyer acceptance requirements. |
| Which material is being evaluated? | Grade identifier, sheet or roll format, dimensions and required test surfaces. | A specification tied to the quoted grade. |
| What electrical requirement applies? | Required measurement, test method, conditioning and buyer acceptance criteria. | A report identifying the sample, method and conditions; confirm whether it covers sheet material or a formed part. |
| How will a formed package be checked? | Part drawing, sample plan and inspection points. | A recorded sample review against the agreed criteria. |
| What must accompany the order? | Quantity, packing, identification and required documentation. | Written confirmation of the agreed supply scope. |
Specification Planning for ESD PET Electronics Packaging
ESD packaging decisions depend on electrostatic control, forming behavior and clean handling. Before requesting a quote, define surface resistance, component sensitivity and tray or blister requirements.
ESD performance
Confirm the target antistatic or dissipative range, whether one side or both sides require ESD performance, and how the material will be tested.
Electronics format
Thermoformed trays, component carriers, separators and protective packaging need different thickness and forming detail.
Clean handling
Surface cleanliness, dust control, packing protection and batch traceability are more important for sensitive electronic parts.
Specification and Procurement Checks
| Specification area | Recommended check | Buyer note |
|---|---|---|
| Electronics use | Component trays, semiconductor packaging, device protection and transport packs. | Share component sensitivity and packaging drawing. |
| ESD requirement | Surface resistance, antistatic coating, single-side or double-side control. | Provide target test standard if available. |
| Forming spec | Thickness, tray depth, cutting edge and dimensional stability. | Send forming sample or CAD reference. |
| Packing control | Clean surface, protective wrapping, cartons and pallets. | Confirm handling environment and destination. |
Buyer Questions
What ESD requirements should be specified before ordering?
Specify the required surface-resistance range, test method, conditioning and whether one or both sides need ESD control. State the component sensitivity and handling requirements, and confirm whether acceptance applies to the supplied sheet or the finished formed package.
What information is needed to quote an ESD PET tray?
Provide the component or tray drawing, sheet thickness, forming depth, dimensions, quantity and destination. Include any required resistance test standard and packing or clean-handling conditions.
Can samples be supplied before bulk order?
Define the sample grade, thickness, package drawing and agreed acceptance criteria before requesting samples. Review forming behavior, part fit and resistance measurements under the specified test conditions, including checks on the formed package where required.
How should buyers choose between PET, APET and PETG?
For electronics packaging, compare the proposed grade, forming process, dimensions, clarity and mechanical requirements alongside the required electrostatic performance. A PET, APET or PETG family name alone does not establish that the finished package meets the agreed ESD requirements.
Need esd pet sheet for electronics packaging support?
Include your package format, drawing, requested material dimensions, quantity and acceptance requirements in the GoFlexPET RFQ. Ask which grade-specific documents and sample information are available for review before placing an order.
