Elevate your brand presence with the "wet-look" clarity and impact resistance of GAG sheeting. Unlike standard plastics that develop unsightly white stress marks at the creases, our GAG structure is designed for high-ductility folding and deep-draw thermoforming. The PETG skins absorb the mechanical strain, ensuring that corners and folds remain crystal clear and crack-free. It provides the premium aesthetic of pure PETG with the structural "snap" and cost-efficiency of APET. Safe for food contact, 100% recyclable, and engineered to withstand the rigors of global shipping without scuffing or surface clouding.

In the search for the ideal packaging substrate, manufacturers often find themselves torn between the cost-effectiveness of APET (Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate) and the superior processing capabilities of PETG (Glycol-modified PET). GAG Plastic Sheets represent a sophisticated engineering solution to this dilemma. By utilizing a triple-layer co-extrusion process—sandwiching a rigid APET core between two thin layers of PETG—this material creates a "composite polymer" that excels where monolithic films fail.
The primary technical driver for GAG's adoption is its performance in High-Frequency (RF) and Ultrasonic welding. Standard APET has a very high melting point and a narrow thermal range, often leading to "cold welds" or brittle seals that fail during transit. The outer PETG skins of a GAG sheet act as a built-in bonding agent. PETG has a lower softening temperature and superior flow characteristics under RF energy. This creates a fiber-tear bond—a seal so strong that the material will tear before the bond breaks. For high-volume automated lines, this means faster cycle times and a near-zero "leaker" rate.
A common "silent killer" of retail aesthetics is stress whitening. When rigid plastics like APET are folded into boxes or deep-drawn into trays, the polymer chains can crystallize under tension, causing the clear plastic to turn opaque or white at the stress points. GAG sheeting is engineered for ductility. The PETG outer layers absorb the mechanical strain of a 90-degree bend, protecting the APET core from micro-fractures. The result is a crisp, "glass-clear" crease that maintains its optical integrity, ensuring that premium products look their best on the retail shelf.
While PETG is prized for its ductility, it can sometimes be too "soft" for large-scale industrial trays. The APET core in GAG provides the necessary modulus of elasticity to give the packaging its structural "snap" and rigidity. This allows engineers to use thinner gauge sheets without sacrificing the protection of the internal product. This structural efficiency directly translates to lower shipping weights and a reduced carbon footprint, meeting both financial and sustainability KPIs.
Despite its complex three-layer structure, GAG remains part of the Polyester (Code #1) recycling stream. It is 100% recyclable, halogen-free, and compliant with REACH and RoHS standards. Because the PETG and APET are chemically similar, they do not require separation during the recycling process, making GAG a "future-proof" choice for brands facing increasing pressure to adopt sustainable, single-stream packaging materials.
