PETG/PET Sheet Production Line

Raw Material Preparation

Resin Selection:
PET (APET, RPET): Rigid, crystal-clear, recyclable.

PETG: Glycol-modified for enhanced flexibility, clarity, and thermoformability.

Drying: Pre-dry pellets (~150–180°C for 4–6 hours) to remove moisture (critical for avoiding hydrolysis and defects).

Extrusion Process

Twin-Screw Extruder: Melts and homogenizes resin (typical temperature profile: 240–280°C for PET; 220–260°C for PETG).

Additives: UV stabilizers, anti-static agents, or colorants can be blended.

Filtration: Melt filtration (≤50 microns) to remove impurities.

Sheet Formation

Die Head: Flat-die extrusion for uniform thickness (adjustable lips for precision, e.g., 0.1–2.0 mm).

Polishing Rolls:

Three-Roll Stack (Chill Rolls): Calenders molten sheet for smoothness/thickness control.

Temperature control (20–80°C) to set surface finish (glossy/matte).

Edge Trimming: Real-time trimming to maintain width tolerance (±1 mm).

Cooling & Haul-Off

Conveyor Belt/Cooling Rolls: Gradually cools sheet to prevent warping.

Haul-Off Unit: Pulls sheet at synchronized speed (critical for tension control).

Cutting & Winding

Slitting: Rotary knives cut sheets to required widths.

Stacking/Winding:

Rigid Sheets: Cut-to-length and stacked (for thermoforming).

Rolls: Wound for flexible applications (e.g., printing).
